I see a "Testnet" label on the new NFT creation feature. What does this mean?

The "Testnet" label indicates that our NFT creation feature is currently operating on a test network, specifically the Ethereum Goerli testnet. A test network, or testnet, is a blockchain environment used for testing and development purposes. It's a simulation that allows users and developers to experiment without using real money or assets.

Why is the feature available only on a testnet and not on the main blockchain network?

  • Risk-Free Testing: Users can try out the NFT creation feature without the risk of financial loss. Since testnets use "faucet" tokens, which have no real-world value, it's a safe environment for experimentation.
  • Feedback and Improvement: It allows us to gather user feedback and make necessary improvements before launching on the main network. Your input is vital to refine the feature.
  • Education and Familiarization: For new users, it's a great way to learn about NFT creation and blockchain transactions without the pressure of real stakes.

How to Participate in the Testnet?

  • Set Up a Wallet: If you don't already have one, set up a digital wallet that supports the Goerli testnet. (e.g.: https://metamask.io/ )
  • Access the Feature: Once you have your wallet and tokens, you can access our NFT creation feature and start experimenting.

What to Keep in Mind?

  • No Real-World Value: Remember, assets created on the testnet have no real-world value.
  • Temporary Environment: The testnet environment is temporary and may be reset at any time. This means your creations might not be preserved long-term.
  • Feedback is Crucial: Your feedback is essential. Please share your experience, any issues you encounter, and suggestions for improvement.

When will the feature be available on the main network?

After a thorough testing phase, we plan to transition to the main network. We’ll announce the mainnet launch once we’re confident in the stability and functionality of the feature, based on the feedback and data collected from the testnet phase.
